Snowfall can transform landscapes into beautiful scenes, but it can also make car parking areas, driveways, paths, garage entrances, outdoor steps and loading bays dangerous to walk over and to drive on. The Vysa-Frost System for snow and ice melting is used to keep such areas free of ice and snow and comprises:
1) Vysa-Mat Classic heating mats rated 250W/m2 to 300W/m2 beneath the surface of the terrain 2) A fully automatic Vysa-Frost850 fully automatic digital controller. 3) Intelligent digital sensors located within the terrain to measure both temperature and moisture.
The controller turns the Vysa-Mat Classic heating mats on and off according to the measurements recorded by the sensors. These intelligent digital sensors provide optimal functionality combined with low energy consumption. By monitoring moisture and temperature, the system can save up to 75% of the energy of a system using only temperature measurements. |
Correct location of the sensor(s) is important for the system to work as intended and the more sensors you incorporate into the system the better the performance. With only one sensor you will have to decide which is most important:
1) Fast detection and activation of the system or, 2) Complete melting of all snow and ice.
Using two sensors, one may be located where the snow/ice will appear first (for fast detection) and the other where the snow/ice will disappear last (for complete melting).
When using more than two sensors it is possible to cover problem spots where snow is usually not detected or where snow is not completely melted when the system turns off.
A fully automatic Vysa-Frost850 snow and ice protection system is more suited to larger scale frost protection systems. It offers a reliable and professional frost protection solution to provide safety during cold conditions. |
