Vysa-Bond™ Primer
Vysa-Bond™ Primer is a medium viscosity homopolymer emulsion of Vinyl Acetate supplied as a concentrate ready for dilution with water at 4:1 to produce an effective sealer / primer for use during floor preparation before installation of electric underfloor heating systems. Undiluted, Vysa-Bond™ Primer passes the BS 5270 Part 1: 1989 test requirements for adhesive bond strength.
Vysa-Cable™ Kits
Vysa-Bond™ Primer is provided as part of the Vysa-Cable™ Kit to enable the installer to seal / prime the sub-floor surface so that the self-adhesive tape, used to secure the cable runs in position, bonds to the floor surface. Unless the floor is sealed after sweeping, small dust particles remain to inhibit effective adhesion.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from any contaminants liable to impair adhesion.
Bonding conditions
The sub-floor surface and ambient temperature should ideally be a minimum of 20°C and not less than 10°C when Vysa-Bond™ Primer is applied.
Method of application
Dilute 4 : 1 with clean water (4 water :1 Vysa-Bond™ Primer ), apply with the roller supplied or a brush and then allow to cure / dry. Wash brushes etc. thoroughly with clean water immediately after use.
Coverage
Vysa-Bond™ Primer is supplied in 500 g bottles and will typically cover about 12 m2 when diluted - depending upon the porosity / absorbency of the sub-floor surface.
Ambient temperature and cure times
Vysa-Bond™ Primer is humidity and temperature dependent. The curing time also depends upon the porosity of the floor surface. Vysa-Bond™ Primer will usually cure in about 30 ~ 40 minutes at 20oC but could take longer at lower temperatures.
Do not use at ambient temperatures below 10oC.
STORAGE Store Vysa-Bond™ Primer in cool dry conditions between +5oC and +30oC. Protect from frost.
HEALTH & SAFETY Vysa-Bond™ Primer does not create a health hazard and is safe in normal use. Always observe good personal hygiene practices. Ensure adequate ventilation if using in confined areas. Wear goggles where risk of splashing occurs. Splashes in the eye must be washed out immediately with clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek medical attention. Wash splashes off skin with cold water before the PVA dries. Any dried resin can be removed with hot water or skin cleansers. Do not take internally.
Keep out of reach of children.
