Whilst the self-adhesive tapes on the heating mat are generally satisfactory if the sub-floor has been correctly primed, it is beneficial to use additional double-sided adhesive tapes along the edges of the glass fibre mesh to prevent them lifting when a coat of latex smoothing compound is poured.
